I got two DSoneis (one for me and one for my brother) a year ago and mine was real, his was fake.

The one I got worked fine and it still does up until now.
My brothers one at first when trying to use the firmware writer, it just kept on showing the flashing light and it never showed green or red. (I am sure I put the necessary firmware on the microsd)

Later, I reformatted it and tried again and it worked. Even now, my brother's card which was a fake, still works fine. Never had a problem after that reformatting.

I got a fake one and it still worked! :)
The fake one's description is exactly how it looks in the photos but it worked.

Im curious what does that thing do? Since it looks like a battery but that can't be right? I mean batteries runs out which would mean that the card doesn't last long.

the battery is to maintain save in PSRAM.
