Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story loading problem

I started to run the rom and when I try to create a new file it freezes but the music was running and I press some the buttons like start, but nothing worked.

There's a code that can bypass this issue-

52064138 E1A00005
5206413C E28DDE22
02064138 E3A00001
D0000000 00000000
D0000000 00000000

This was made by Normmatt from GBAtemp and developer of a custom ak2 firmware. But here's a precompiled cheat file for supercard ds-one:

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?zjujtrnizj3

Download and put in the same folder as the rom on your microSD. Make sure the filenames for the rom and cheat file are the same except for their extensions (.nds and .scc). Remember to enable cheats in the pre-game loading menu and enable the bypass in the cheat list.

Tested past the file selection menu, but no further than the intro. Should work ok.

EDIT- The game does seem to work somewhat, but it freezes whenever you finish saving the game and exit the save menu. It saves the game properly but you need to restart the game to be able to continue. Annoying, but it doesn't make the game unplayable.

UPDATE- Using the code gets you past the file selection, but it still freezes after the first fight with Bowser. Nothing currently can be done, we can only hope for a fix from Supercard team or another code from a hacker.

Yeah, I have a SuperCard Lite and it's not letting me get past the file selection screen. 8(

Supercard lite probably won't work at all.

I did find a better fix though for Supercard DS-One. Copy/pasted from gbatemp-

I can confirm that the game IS possible to get loaded in Supercard DS-One, but your success might depend on your microSD speed.

You can use DSATM to patch the rom directly with the cheat code from Normmatt-

52064138 E1A00005
5206413C E28DDE22
02064138 E3A00001
D0000000 00000000
D0000000 00000000

Then deselect ALL options in the supercard game menu, all patches, make sure ALL check boxes are unchecked. Load the rom you patched with the code above and it should work, depending possibly on your SD speed.

I have two microSD's one of which is slower than the other. The faster one played the game, the slower one just gave white screens on bootup. Also very important- since you've deselected some saving patches, you will have to re enter the supercard firmware to be able to back up your save file to the microSD. Deselecting the "patch saver" option makes the save store itself in the supercard's own hardware, and it will not back up to the microSD until you load the supercard menu again.

I'm not sure about this being entirely true (the part of the speed of the cards, since the quote didn't went well). I quoted one of your posts in gbatemp but it got covered pretty fast by spam and things like that, about the experiments i have been doing with 3 different cards, one an Adata 4gb Class 6 Micro SDHC, one Sandisk 8gb Class 6 Micro SDHC and one Kingston 2gb Micro SD (that is way slower than the other two).
Here is a copy of my post in the other site (it's a bit on the large side):
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have been doing experiments using the code on my Supercard DS One SDHC. I also did a .scc with the code and loaded the game using the same settings that you mention, and i got mixed results. I have 3 memory cards, 1 Adata 4gb Class 6 Micro SDHC, 1 Sandisk 8gb Class 6 Micro SDHC and 1 Kingston 2gb Micro SD. With the Adata 4gb one, it happened as you mention, it saves and i get a black screen after that, having to reset, then i get a black screen just after Bowser fight (tried around 8 times, changing settings a bit, going to Bowser without saving before, etc.).
With the second one, the Sandisk 8gb, i managed to get past the Bowser fight (with a brand new savefile, didn't save before it), then saved at the next save point (a bit after all get absorbed by Bowser) and got the black screen after saving (again). I could continue from the save, but then i got a black screen after the next fight finished (killing the first goomba with Mario).
And finally with the Kingston one, i managed to get past Bowser fight (again with a brand new save and without saving before it), i skipped the next save and continued playing, killed many goombas and then saved in the next save point (the third one available), but this time i selected Save and Quit. It got me to the title screen (no black screen this time), but somehow it didn't apply the cheat (i wasn't able to select my file). I tried restarting 2 or 3 times, getting the same results (couldn't select my file, i checked that the cheat was actually active) and decided to give it up for some hours (i got a bit tired, lol).
So i don't know what to say, i kind of suspect that the problems might be related to the black screens after saving (considering something like, you can play using a brand new savefile and advance without black screens as long as you don't save, based on my results, since i skipped saving at the 1st then the 1st and 2nd saves on my 2nd and 3rd try and i could advance a bit more each time), but atm this would be only speculations, might try again with my first card with brand new saves to see if i get a different result. Or maybe it has something to do with the memory cards.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I haven't done more tests atm, but as you can see, so far i had a bit more luck with the slower card (not saying that a slower card is better, just trying to say that probably speed is not the problem).

It work with DS One and Onei, on rapid or slow µSD.

You have to patch clean ROM with DSATM with those this cheat file  :
52064138 E1A00005
5206413C E28DDE22
02064138 E3A00001
D0000000 00000000
D0000000 00000000

On patched menu of the DS One check nothing

Don't forget that with those options the sav is not store on µSD directly you have to restart the DS One (save saver).

Well, I tried with the chat file and enable patch-patch sd card read speed, but I got the message of "unable to acces to save file" or something like that I tried with the patch enable and disable, but I got the same message.
I have a slow sd card. I hope the solution doesn't take much time
Sorry for my english  i speak and write español

I think I followed your directions and I got further than before, it let me in, it let me choose when I got to the save game screen in the game, but now I have a black screen. I don't know what you meant about restarting the DS at the end of your post. Help!

I have been able to play the game with the Supercard DS One SDHC without a lot of problems after testing for a while.
I used only the code AR code (like the one that Granville mentioned) and converted it to .scc using the files available in Supercard site.
I put the .scc file and the game file in the same directory, checking that both have the same name, like for example, game.nds and game.scc.
Load the game with the settings Enable patch, patch sd speed, enable cheat, patch saver and dma (you can also select Enable reset if you want, doesn't seem to do a difference).
After loading the game a screen allowing to select the cheat should appear, you need to enable it, selecting On.
Then with this you should be able to go to the game and select a file, then start playing.
If you save in the game, chances are that you will get a black screen after saving (black screen with some music playing). Reset the game, pressing L+R+Select+Start and you should be able to select your saved file and continue playing (this will happen most of the times after saving).
Depending on your card (doesn't seem to be completely related to the speed of it) you might be able to get pass from Bowser fight. With one of my cards i couldn't pass from there, got a black screen after trying like 10 times, and that card was probably the fastest of my cards. With my other cards i could get pass from there without problems.
There might be black screens from time to time (not that often) after fights or after changing screens, so it might be a good idea to save frequently (even if it means to reset the game).
Realtime save is pretty unstable in this game, resulting most of the time in a crash after loading, so probably the best is to avoid it.
Other than that, the game seems pretty much playable, i have around 3 hours in my save and haven't had a lot of black screens (probably 2 or 3) other than the ones after saving the game.
I attached my .scc file in case of someone not knowing how to make it, i made this one, but shouldn't be different than the ones that you can find in other places. It only has the cheat code to bypass the save selection screen, with no other cheats in it.
